Parent FAQ
Where are you located?
We meet at 6800 6th Street, Rio Linda, CA 95673. There is plenty of parking. There is no drop-off zone — please park and walk students in.
What days and hours do you offer classes?
Classes run on Thursdays only, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The day starts with Tutor's Table and My First Classroom for every grade level.
What ages and grades do you serve?
Our youngest age is 5. We offer enrichment through high school, depending on the class. Check each class listing for the grade range.
How do I sign up?
Visit www.goingbeyondschool.com and go to Join a Class. Choose the classes that fit your student, then complete the booking steps. If you use charter funds, also follow the steps on How to Use Your Charter School Funds. There is no deposit. Private-pay families receive a 10% discount. Payment is due at the end of each month for the classes your student is signed up for.
Can I use my charter school educational funds?
Yes — many families do. We have vendor agreements with Sutter Peak, Heritage Peak, Compass Charter, Visions, South Sutter, and Sequoia Grove. Ask your facilitator to request Going Beyond School as the vendor, then we invoice the school after the order is approved.
How will I get class updates and forms?
Each class has a private group on our website. Parents join with their own Going Beyond School account; joining a class group requires approval. Teachers (and Joe) post updates, reminders, and forms there. For younger students, please use a parent's account — we do not recommend separate accounts for young children.
Is lunch provided?
Families may send a packed lunch, or sign up for our lunch plan. See the Join a Class page for lunch plan details and pricing. Please note that charter funds can't be used for the lunch plan.
What should my student bring?
A water bottle, any materials listed for the class, and a packed lunch if they stay through midday. We ask for a modest dress code.
What if we need to miss a day or cancel?
Please message your class group or email us as soon as you know. Teachers may allow make-up assignments at their discretion when needed. There are no refunds on classes already attended. Payment is still required when a student misses a class, because their spot was held for them.
Are students video recorded or photographed?
By entering the facility, families consent to their student being video recorded because the building has security cameras. Class photos may be shared on Going Beyond School's social media unless a parent opts out by contacting the school.
How do I contact Going Beyond School?
Email admin@goingbeyondschool.com, use the contact form on our website, or message us in your class group after you are enrolled. You can also follow our Facebook page for community updates.
